Adenomyosis Symptoms & Tracking
Tracking adenomyosis symptoms is critical for faster diagnosis & treatment due to overlapping symptoms with other conditions. Learn about keeping a detailed symptom log to provide medical professionals with vital insights.
Symptoms
Adenomyosis symptoms can be mild to very severe and can vary from woman to woman. If you have even some of these symptoms, speak with your doctor. These are the most common ones:
Heavy periods
Painful periods
Pelvic pain before your period
Feelings of heaviness or discomfort in the pelvis
Bloating
Many women experience a unique combination of these symptoms however many report less common symptoms including;
Pain during sex
Pain when having a poo
An enlarged womb.
Its important to understand that you can have Adenomyosis and other conditions like Endometriosis and PCOS at the same time.
So if you have other symptoms, not listed here, and something just doesn’t feel right, you’re not imagining it and you should speak to a doctor.
Tracking
If you do one thing for your health journey, make it symptom tracking. It helps you understand your body more effectively, get taken seriously by doctors and can support diagnosis and treatment management.
Track daily for at least 2 months (covering 2 cycles).
Log how symptoms like painful periods, and heavy bleeding affect your day.
It can be hard to describe how heavy or painful your period is, focus on tracking how many tampons/pads etc you use per day on your period, and how often you have to change them. If you have to change your pad every hour for example, this can give the doctor an idea of just how heavy your period is.
Your tracker should capture all symptoms, even those not clearly related to Endometriosis. This helps identify patterns and provides doctors with a comprehensive view of your health.
Feel free to track your symptoms in a notebook, on your phone, or print out our handy symptom tracker PDF.![]()
Alternatively if you prefer to track via your mobile you can use an app on your phone.
